Colstrips are easy to apply on a bitumous and concrete surface; always ensure the area of application is clean dry and free form dust chemicals and any significant oil substances. If application to concrete is required the area should be primer with CP Primer. Please ensure the area has completely cooled before the primer is applied.
Preheat the surface making sure it is free from moisture remove Colstrips from their protective wrapping and place on the road surface. Heat the Colstrips with a propane torch using slow sweeping motion, make sure you do not spot heat any areas as this may scorch the material. The Colstrips must be heated until it starts to bubble and melt. The material will cool and harden within 5-10 minutes of installation.
Store in a cool dry place. Don not expose to UV rays as material will become hard. Shelf life in correct conditions for sealed packaging is 6 months. In cold weather, application will be assisted by storing overnight at room temperature.
